GR!DSM Community Bands

The Girls Rock DSM Community Bands are a weekly program for musicians aged 8-18 who identify as cis girls, gender non-conforming, or trans youth. All skill levels are welcome, and participants will learn and play an instrument in a band. The band will perform cover songs from previous camps and may even introduce new covers or originals at Girls Rock Events throughout the year. No prior musical experience is necessary, and instruments are provided for rehearsals.

Individual Lessons: Embark on the incredible journey of exploring musicianship, with our weekly individual lessons across five dynamic disciplines:

• Voice: Harness your vocal power and set the room ablaze.

• Bass Guitar: Plunge into the rhythmic depths of bass guitar wizardry.

• Guitar: Learn riffs and how to shred on rhythm or lead guitar

• Drums: Be the heart of the band with four-on-the-floor and more

• Songwriting: Forge your sonic path and craft anthems that resonate.

Group Lessons: Elevate your musical prowess through our collaborative group sessions:

• Music Theory: Decode the secrets of music in engaging group encounters.
